Extension Disaster Emergency Network
The Extension Disaster Emergency Network
(EDEN) website contains excellent information for you to use to educate yourself about the different concerns regarding natural and manmade disasters.
The Extension Disaster Education Network (EDEN) links Extension educators from across the U.S. and various disciplines—so they can use and share resources to reduce the impact of disasters.
From food safety to field safety, from the physical to the psychological, and from governmental process to community development, EDEN has resources you can use.
There are two ways to use this site:
If you are interested in a specific topic, choose the link to the RESOURCE DATABASE
. This screen allows you to use pulldown menus to select the type of resource (fact sheet, news article, etc.) that you are interested in as well as the audience (general public, youth, etc.) and the disaster type (biological release, chemical release, hurricane, etc.).
If you are interested in all aspects of homeland security, choose the link to HOMELAND SECURITY under current topics. This page contains links to online resources, conferences and training opportunities, centers and associations and government matters and reports.
